So a visitor would need to click the hamburger icon to change the language. This is not user friendly.

Why is there no simple option in translatepress settings that moves the language selector beside the hamburger icon like it does with WPML?

Floating is not a viable alternative – it covers too much space on mobile.

Thanks!

Very good point Carlos. This is already on our to do list and will be implemented very soon.

Is there a way to modify it somehow ?

I thought that Google will switch the languages of sites by default. I’m targeting some Europe countries speaking French and Spanish. I might lose a lot of potential customers due to displaying English only. I will stall one of your plugin recommendations.
